Our Summer Program consists of an array of City Walks that will lead you through more than 1000 years of history – from the Aros of the Vikings, through to our Aarhus.

 

The tours all have a different focus, some examples of which are: quirky details in Aarhus architecture; art in the public space; the two churches and their importance to the city; The Aarhus Docklands and the harbour.

The City Hall

Visit Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller's famous City Hall. Learn about the history and architecture of the building. See the City Council Chamber and the Wedding Chamber. 

The tour ends with a visit at the City Hall Tower, with a unique view to the rooftops of Aarhus and surroundings.

Aarhus Explorers

Weekend trips with the Aarhus Guides' international team. The trips are in English or the guide's mother tongue. Every weekend there is an opportunity to take part in different trips focusing on history, art and architecture and be guided through the city in 2 hours. City walk and the Vikings

Visiting the Viking Museum and the cathedral are the first steps to the history of Aarhus, which has developed from a Viking settlement to a vibrant college town. A stroll through the old part of town and along the River of Aarhus will link the past to the present.

Marselisborg - The Royal Gardens

An introduction to the history of the area. On our tour of the park, we look at the artworks and visit the rose garden, and the herb and vegetable gardens.

Dokk1 is the new culturel landmark in Aarhus, with library, public service, activity areas, meeting and concert halls and much more.
